How to Play Saylok
From setup to Say Lock in under 2 minutes.
Form Teams
Split into two teams of any size. Name your teams and pick a game mode.
Pick Categories
Each team picks 3 categories from 45 options — 6 total — to build the board.
Answer & Lock
Pick tiles, debate with your team — then Say Lock to commit. Once someone says "Lock" the answer cannot be changed!
Win the Game
Outscore, outmanoeuvre, or outrace your opponents depending on the game mode.
Win Conditions by Mode
Free pick board — any tile, any time.
Tiles worth 250, 500, or 750 points.
Game ends when all tiles are played.
Most points wins.
6×6 grid. Tiles fill from the bottom up.
Alternate turns answering tiles.
First to connect 4 in a row wins.
Tie on rows? Most points decides.
3×3 macro grid — 9 squares, each with 4 tiles.
Score more points inside a square to claim it (X or O).
First to connect 3 squares in a row wins.
No connect-3? Most claimed squares wins.
Race across a 6×6 grid to the opposite corner.
Answer tiles to move your piece (king-step).
500pt = +1 move, 750pt = +2 move chain.
Reaching the flag triggers a 1000pt bonus.
Most points wins — NOT who arrives first!
